The Nigerian teacher’s UK migration visa poses a huge opportunity for Nigerian teachers. As a Nigerian teacher, you may be considering migrating to the United Kingdom. This is either in order to further your career or take advantage of the country’s many professional and educational opportunities. However, the process of obtaining a UK migration visa can be a complex and confusing one. Here is great news, starting from February 1st, 2023, the UK will be giving out the Quality Teaching Status (QTS) to Nigerian applicants. This means Nigerian teachers looking to migrate to the UK will have the convenience to do so without extra credentials or qualifications. This is a unique opening and wake-up call to Nigerian teachers seeking a UK migration visa with their teaching skills.
A professional teaching credential known as qualified teacher status is obtainable after completing English teacher training. You can work as a teacher in England for up to 4 years without the QTS. That is only if you are a qualified educator from outside the United Kingdom. Quality teaching status is a desirable qualification for teachers in the majority of English schools and is a legal requirement to teach in many English schools.
In this guide, we will outline the different visa options available to Nigerian teachers looking to migrate to the UK. It will include ways to obtain a Quality teaching status well as provide a step-by-step guide to the application process.
